What a great spot! We went twice this past weekend. What gorgeous views from the Veranda. The new outside bar is a great addition (Cheryl is terrific). The crab soup was delicious as were all of our entrees. My husband said his flounder was awesome! We will definitely be back many times this summer. Hopefully, we will catch the live music next time.

The restaurant at the Baywood golf course deserves five stars from me. To rate five stars the food has to be superb, the service has to be stellar and the decor has to remind me of the formal dining room on a cruise or at least has to be super modern/chic/hip. The Baywood is more like the cruise dining room. It's in the clubhouse for the Baywood golf course and resort community. I have come here every year for the last five years (whenever I visit Delaware). We've had dinner, lunch and drinks here on several occasions. The menu is purely classic and continental cuisine. The patrons seem a little old school and there aren't too many people there who are under 40. Doesn't matter. I feel regal and special whenever I go there. When I was there this week we came in the mid-afternoon for drinks and appetizers. I had a mojito and it was excellent. We also ordered the cocoanut shrimp appetizer (2 orders of it since there are only 3 to an order). They tasted like they were NOT frozen (they were delish). My son and daughter shared a French onion soup. It was huge and they devoured it. The waitress was engaged and friendly. I wish I had planned to go there for dinner. Maybe next time. This is my favorite restaurant at the beach. The tourists don't know about it and hope it stays that way. I know it will since it's on the pricey side.

We've made it a tradition to enjoy Sunday Brunch with friends at this restaurant each year we visit. Always a fabulous meal and wonderfully relaxing experience. Since the last time there, the Sunday Brunch has now become a buffet. I can't begin to describe how disappointing our meal was last Sunday. After raving about previous experiences, brought new friends along and it was incredibly embarrassing. Promptly seated on the veranda as was our request with our noon reservation. BUT, that's where the usually wonderful experience ended. Waitress was...o.k. - not our usual experience. She excused us to the buffet to find....almost no food. Out of the very few selections, over half were empty. Guests standing around in a very small service room waiting for food. And waiting. And waiting. One server alone to make omelets to order AND carve, so the line quickly backed up. Everyone around us so disappointed, and somewhat incredulous that it was in this condition. We went back to seats with a few morsels of food, decided to try again a bit later. Same situation - next to no food. I'm assuming that the buffet was the only choice as we were not given choice to order off of a menu. I hope this is not the new "norm".

We are staying at The Peninsula but this is the local place to eat!! The scenery is breath taking & the ambiance of the clubhouse is refined. The food was very good. The presentation is simple but the food is tasty. My wife & I both got steaks that were one level more done than requested but they were still yummy! The prices are good, especially considering the surroundings. The staff there were incredible & make you feel as if you are a regular. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

We barely had time to put our bags down after walking through the front door, when her father started telling us about the Baywood golf course and how he was taking us there for dinner. Folks. This place is THAT good! The adventure starts driving up to the clubhouse. Gorgeous. Lots of plants, flowers and water arrangements. Might as well valet because he's there. Warmly greeted at hostess stand and while walking to the table, you think this must be how it feels like to play at the Masters in Augusta. Dark wood. Plush booths in the dining room. Dark, bold colors. Wait staff all in black. The inside bar looks out onto the greens. You must decide if you should beg for a seat on the verandah or dining room instead. The bar is loud and each time a servers walks out to the verandah there is a WHOOSH from the door. I don't think a bad table exists...great view from every seat. Dad had a vodka martini on the rocks. Later we saw a special drink that we should have ordered for him...came with blue cheese stuffed olives. Janet, our server was very helpful in choosing a bottle of red. She let us taste the Shiraz and it was a winner! She brought us warm bread while we were still looking at the menu...just the way I like it! Because my friend is vegan, we started with the veggie spring rolls. Light and delicate with a yummy honey soy to dip them in. They only brought 2 so I was glad Dad and I decided to split a wedge salad. Half baby iceberg cut into 4 little wedges with barely enough dressing to coat, smattering of blue cheese crumbles and just a few pieces of peppered bacon. Tasty for $8. Guess who ordered the vegan pasta? New on the menu. Looked yummy. Wild mushrooms, chickpeas, grilled asparagus, grape tomatoes, wilted greens, sun dried tomato pesto on rice noodles. ($18) Dad had the Sicilian chicken which came with wild mushrooms, artichoke hearts, grape tomatoes and orzo. ($19) I had the best meal. Ten ounces of garlic rubbed, medium rare prime rib. Usually these things come with a huge chunk of fat. Mine had a little heart shape piece for me to cut out. I would guess I had 9 ounces of deliciously marbled meat! Came with roasted potatoes, parsnips, carrots and onions. The accompanying juice was delicious. I only needed a little cracked pepper and never asked for the worcestershire sauce. No horseradish but I bet I could have asked for some. ($23). As the consummate bargain hunter I almost ordered the 17 oz for $36 thinking about a midnight snack or even a sandwich the next day. Would have been worth every penny but I decided to splurge and added the crab risotto for $4. WOWZA! First of all, that was a steal! Creamy. Buttery. Melt in your mouth. So delicious! You could taste the crab in every bite. Seriously that good. Everyone should order their own because you will not want to share...and for $4 you would be silly not to. Janet caught my hint about the birthday boy. Nothing fancy. They will put a candle in the dessert. Eh. But wait. Then she says they also take 50% off the birthday entree. WHAT??? Guess where I am going next year on my birthday. Go ahead and put my name on that 17 oz baby!!! Did I mention how great Janet is? Dessert was a flourless chocolate torte, no sugar added raspberry cheesecake and peach bread pudding. Each were $6. A caramel praline coffee made with bailey's caramel and hazelnut liqueur for $8 was raved over. There is an outdoor bar and there was live jazz music on the verandah. Stepping out to take a look at the course while the sun was setting was gorgeous. Sweet to find under the gazebo a young couple having a wedding rehearsal. Great meal. Great service. Great view. Great atmosphere. Great experience. I felt very decadent.

I have been to this restaurant often and always came back. Just had the snow crab claw special on Sunday and the meal and service was below expectations. Before ordering, I asked the waitress if the claws came pre-cut. She said they were. They came uncut. I asked to sub out the sweet potato fries for mashed potatoes. The waitress indicated that was not possible as the chef was very stubborn. I had to order another side at $4 to get what I wanted. When I got my plate the claws were piled high on my unwanted fries and green beans. There was no way to access the beans until the claws were removed. Guess what, my beans were cold by that time. The stubborn chef also does not know how to properly plate a dinner. They offered me a free dessert for my trouble. Big deal as I had to pay extra to get a preferred side dish. They comped me a $9 glass of house wine instead. Not a great gesture as the big wine glasses were less that one-fifth filled. Baywood needs to remind the chef who he works for and that customers pay his salary. I will not be back for a while if at all.

Made our Valentines reservation February 1st. Got here and they sat us at a table extremely close to the bar stools as possible. We said no way not sitting here. They told us our on line reservations from their web site sat us outside. This place is horrible. DO NOT MAKE Reservations from THEIR website. They will screw you!

Beautiful layout...Played 7 holes..rain delay. Never finished...SLOW play to even get to 7 as they had a large group of 32 ahead of us...Restaurant had tasty food but terrible service...Server even insulted my guest. Seemed very disorganized...Bartender was the only one trying.

Very nice decor and in the summer they have excellent outdoor seating. Overall the staff is professional and the food is consistently above average. It is in our regular rotation and it is one of the more relaxing places to eat around. Not too overpriced.

My husband and I celebrated our 46 wedding anniversary at the restaurant last night. Our server Julia was wonderful, and so was the food and drinks. If you ever get a chance to dine there drive around the grounds they are beautiful. It makes you feel like your at a resort, so many flowers and beautiful landscaping.

Mostly good food...a couple misses in the dozen times we've been but excusable...Brunch $3 mimosas and bloody Mary's that are worth the $$...more champagne than O.J.... smoked salmon with bagel is always a good choice as well as the crab Benedict...dinner is always good with great views if you can sit outside

Very personable waitress Julia who had good knowledge of menu. Very good lunch. We had the salmon sandwich and the turkey Rachel. Highly recommend both. Prices very reasonable and beautifully landscaped for Easter. Will definitely return.
